  • For a pleasant, relaxing bedtime drink, add 1 teaspoon to a cup of camomile tea.

WHAT DOES N-ACETYL-D-GLUCOSAMINE DO?
N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine is a major component of hyaluronan, a substance that functions as a lubricant in joints. N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine is also important in the growth and repair of joint cartilage. As a result, N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine can help nourish and restore damaged cartilage, easing joint pain and in some cases helping restore mobility and function.

HOW DOES ULTIMATE GLUCOSAMINE® DIFFER FROM OTHER GLUCOSAMINES?

  1. It’s convenient and easy to take – and it tastes good!
Ultimate Glucosamine® is available in a once-a-day powder format, making it one of the most convenient supplements to take. The N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine molecule is more stable than the glucosamine salts and can be taken with hot beverages and used in baking. N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine is a pleasant sweet-tasting powder that can be added to hot beverages such as tea or coffee as a mild sweetener. Glucosamine salts, on the other hand, are bitter and generally have an unpleasant taste.

  2. It contains only 100% pure N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine.
All glucosamines are isolated from the shells of crustaceans, in which glucosamine is present as N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine. But some isolation processes use strong acids which result in the removal of the N-Acetyl group from N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine, resulting in a salt of glucosamine. A more gentle treatment and purification process yields the intact N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine molecule.

  3. It works more effectively in the body.
Unlike glucosamine sulphate or glucosamine hydrochloride, N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine is an advanced molecule that requires fewer enzymatic steps before being incorporated into hyaluronan or cartilage.
The glucosamine in glucosamine sulphate or glucosamine hydrochloride has been associated with insulin resistance. N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine does not use the insulin pathway to enter into cells of the body and has not been associated with insulin resistance.

  4. It contains more of the biologically active ingredient than other preparations.
Most marketed glucosamine tablets and capsules contain the salt glucosamine sulphate. It is important to know that only the glucosamine part is biologically important. Thus products containing 500 milligrams of glucosamine sulphate contain only 325 milligrams of the biologically important glucosamine component. In a recent study of glucosamine products on the Canadian market, the majority of preparations contained less than 60% of the stated amount of glucosamine1.
Ultimate Glucosamine® is a powder consisting of 100% N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine. This formulation contains no additives, salts or preservatives.

WHAT IS THE SOURCE?
N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine is extracted from the shell of crustaceans
