Description
Today’s practitioner needs maximum controlled joint displacement combined with patient comfort. The ArthroStim® (known as the Accustim® outside of the US) instrument allows the practitioner tremendous control over all adjustment variables. The ArthroStim® produces a succession of rapidly repeating, high velocity-low amplitude thrusts. The power of the thrusts can be changed from mere ounces of force, up to 40 pounds of thrusting force.
The ArthroStim® instrument features a spring cushioned ‘floating stylus’ design that enables a practitioner to instantly increase and decrease the thrusting force simply by increasing or decreasing pressure against the body. This permits the practitioner to utilize the ArthroStim® as an extension of their own hands.
The ArthroStim® Instrument’s adjustment is finely focused where it counts most: at the practitioner-patient interface. The spring cushioning produces a comfortable ‘end-feel’ to the thrust and it minimizes the forces returning to the practitioner. This makes the ArthroStim® much easier on the practitioner’s hands and body than other devices often costing hundreds (or thousands) of dollars more.
The rapid thrust and unique recoil produced by the ArthroStim® activates the patient’s proprioceptors and mechanoreceptors without recruiting the nocioceptors (pain receptors), providing the comfort today’s patient demands.
The ArthroStim® Instrument produces TWELVE thrusts a second. This frequency, known as the low beta somatomotor rhythm, is two to three times the rate of other multiple thrust instruments. This outstanding rapidity supersaturates the target area with specific adjustive energy/ forces. The energy continues to ripple through the joint to surrounding fringe tissues. This releases secondary trigger points and sites of muscular spasm, providing the relief and corrections that practitioners want. Patients typically notice a positive difference with the first treatment.
The ArthroStim® Instrument weighs less than two pounds and fits comfortably in the practitioner’s hands. The versatile ArthroStim® Instrument adapts easily to a very broad spectrum of high and low force chiropractic techniques. The practitioner may therefore easily expand his or her armamentarium of techniques and offer an advantage that is noticed, and appreciated, by referring patients.
