Dr Blaine Kingsbury, DC, RTP®, BCIM, DAAIM, DMBBT, brings many years of experience from around the world to the greater Kansas City area and the Functional Health Institute. Having worked in Peru, Germany, Dubai, Austria, Indonesia, and France, Dr Kingsbury, DC, continues to work with patients from around the world.

He has had the honour of studying personally with some of the top neuropathy doctors in the US and has extensive post-graduate training in the treatment of neuropathic disorders. As the lead instructor for the Trigenics® Institute of Functional Neurology, Dr Kingsbury, DC, teaches other doctors and therapists around the United States and Canada.

With his extensive training and reputation as the go-to health care provider for elite athletes, Dr Kingsbury, DC, has had the honour of travelling with the World Karate Federation to tournaments around the world, working with professional athletes from over 130 countries, and with the #1 athletes from 14 countries. Many of his athletic patients travel from places like South America, Australia, and Europe to seek treatment from him. He currently serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the USA National Karate Federation. He recently provided his expertise at the US Karate Open and Junior International Cup where over 2500 athletes from 40 countries participated.

Key Mid-Body and Spine Muscles
  • Erector Spinae: A group of three long muscles (iliocostalis, longissimus, and spinalis) running vertically along the spine to extend and bend the back. 
  • Latissimus Dorsi: A large, wide muscle spanning the middle and lower back that helps extend and rotate the arm and stabilize the trunk. 
  • Trapezius: A broad muscle covering the upper and middle back that moves and stabilizes the shoulder blades. 
  • Multifidus: Small, deep stabilizing muscles running directly along the spinal joints to support posture and protect individual vertebrae. 
  • Rhomboids: Muscles connecting the shoulder blades to the spine, responsible for retracting the scapula.
